Questions
Witcher 3 Remastered FAQ
Is Witcher 3 Remastered free?
Yes, for owners. Anyone who owns The Witcher 3 on Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation or Xbox gets it free, and owners of the original Switch version get the Switch 2 version free. Only Battle.net and Microsoft Store buyers, and new players, pay. The free upgrade guide covers each store.
When did Witcher 3 Remastered come out?
On September 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. It does not come to PS4, Xbox One or the original Switch, but those copies count for the upgrade on the PS5 or Switch 2.
Do my old saves work in Witcher 3 Remastered?
Yes. Saves, achievements and trophies carry over. Your skill points are reset because of the new skill tree, and you can spend them again as soon as you load; see the save transfer guide.
Does it include the expansions?
Yes. The remaster comes with Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine as part of the download, and every change in the patch notes applies to both.
Can my PC run it?
The minimum is a GTX 1660 class card with Windows 11 and 60 GB on an SSD, for 1080p at 30 FPS. Path tracing at 4K asks for an RTX 5080. All six tiers are in the system requirements.
